The Florida Phenoms in Naples was started in 2007 by coach Chris Moore. Chris was interested in bringing together the best athletes from the Naples area to compete against teams from larger cities like Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. After a 28-14 record and a third place finish in the USSSA Florida state championships, the Phenoms inaugural season was the perfect platform to build on. Fast forward eleven years later and the Phenoms organization has developed into the premier boys youth basketball organization in Southwest Florida.
The Phenoms boast an impressive collection of local, state, and national championships from the country's leading youth basketball entities, AAU, YBOA, and USSSA. The number of student-athletes in the Phenom organization has grown to include boys teams from the fourth through ninth grade. With the inaugural group of student-athletes now in college and several classes of skilled players to follow, the Phenoms future continues to look very bright.
The Florida Phenoms seek to empower boys to achieve their academic and athletic goals in a fun and supportive environment. By working together to achieve this mission, the boys have an opportunity to grow into successful, happy, and healthy young men. While basketball is the common bond of our organization, it is not the sole focus.
Education is essential for the boys to have a successful future, and there are responsibilities that must be upheld for them to participate in our basketball program. Likewise, family and community are also important parts of the Phenom’s mission. This includes treating those around you with respect and being a positive influence in the community.
